It’s not too Late California! Vote for Joe Biden on Tuesday
Joe Biden has caught a last minute surge after winning big in South Carolina. His victory was definitive. His win stormed in with such force, his opponents scarcely made a ripple. He capped off his overwhelming win with the best speech of his campaign so far.
If Joe Biden doesn’t get the nomination at our convention in July, then Bernie Sanders will. The only way to stop Bernie Sanders, if you want to stop him, is to vote now for Joe Biden. In a few weeks, when other candidates inevitably concede defeat, it will be too late. They should be dropping out already. but they won’t.
Mike Bloomberg is continually goaded and taunted by Trump on Twitter but that only motivates a high alpha like Bloomberg to dig in his heels. Elizabeth Warren is being trounced by Bernie Sanders in the polls in her own home state, and has no shot to win the nomination, but still clings to the unattainable dream that she has a chance against Trump. The enthusiasm and votes of her supporters would give an essential boost to the only man who can awaken Bernie from the same dream. zAnd finally, god love her, but Amy Klobuchar has absolutely no business asking her supporters for yet more money on a campaign that is going nowhere.
Why are none of these candidates going anywhere? Why have they all plateaued? Because none of them have the support of black communities. The only three who do are Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, and Mike Bloomberg. In that order, and the gaps between them are wide. If Bloomberg would drop out his voter support would easily tip the race in Biden’s favor; if he doesn’t, then we’ll end up with Bernie Sanders as the nominee.
The bad news is California stupidly pushed its primary date back to take place Super Tuesday. Worse news is that too many Democrats are still in the race so voters who need to have laser focus are being scattered in 6 different directions. Only two of those directions can conceivably lead to our 2020 presidential candidate. Political strategists learned a long time ago that it is better to tighten the race to the strongest candidates as soon as possible, 2 or 3 tops, rather than have a whole raft of hopefuls when most of them have no realistic hope.
This is crunch time, California. We need a record high turnout to unify now, not later, We need to band together now to mark our ballots for Joe Biden, enough to surpass the Bernie Sanders disciples. At this late stage, we have to assume that anyone who insists on stubbornly sticking with the bottom 4 candidates must be okay with handing a second term to Trump. Are you worried about the prospect of sending Bernie to wag his socialist finger at Trump, and watching Trump snap that finger off at the third knuckle? Then you need to put your energy and your vote behind the only other candidate who can block his march to Milwaukee. If you truly want to defeat Trump, Joe Biden in our best bet, and right now is when Joe needs us to show it.
RESTORE Decency
RESTORE Democracy
RESTORE Sanity
RESTORE Hope
