It definitely exists but outside the mainstream. Guys like Rogan and Chappell and a lot of the comedians who appear on Rogan’s show talk about wanting to still do comedy. But the late night guys and anything on network TV must play it too safe to be useful. Ricky Gervais is probably the model I’d look to for the last time any network really dared to set comedy loose in the mainstream.
