1993/1994 — Tara Reade works in the Senate with Joe Biden and Leon Panetta. She tells her friend that Joe Biden ran his finger up her neck repeatedly and how much this bugged her — which is why she left. She then asks her friend if there is any action she can take. Her mother calls Larry King and asks a vague question about what she can do, but it sounds in keeping with what Reade told her friend — NOT ASSAULT.
She says she left because harassment, but did she? In this story she says she left to be with this guy. She ended up having a child by him some time in 1994. But this is not part of any story she tells about why she left DC in any of her Medium essays.
They move to the midwest (he is supposedly working for a congressman and then not — ) where she has a baby. She is telling a story of very personal horrific abuse and yet she holds back on Biden, why?
The question is, if he raped her as she says he did this would have been a very big deal had she told her mother, or her boyfriend or anyone else. This was right around the time of the Bob Packwood scandal and the Anita Hill hearings. Biden would have had to risk everything -marriage, career, family, legacy, future for one shot at this one woman this one time. Not even Harvey Weinstein would take such a risk in public like that. Anyone who takes such an extreme risk is someone who could not stop (like Packwood). If Biden could not stop, he surely would have done it again.
Her stories are very sad. She appears to be an animal lover and someone with a big heart — yet she is clearly being manipulated by the darker forces on this one. She really should not carry the burden of a lie for the rest of her life. It will destroy her, no matter what immediate benefit she gets from it.
